The Variety Picnic blends smooth synth pop with a dash of comedy, making this project one of a kind.

In 2009, the Variety Picnic began creating comedy songs accompanied by lavish music videos. Lead singer and synth man Pat Mahoney decided to pursue the creation of a comedy concept album with a broader appeal. Frequently appearing in the music videos is "World Class Gentleman" Earl Babbich, a wealthy guitar virtuoso.

In March 2010, their debut album Sweet Jams was unleashed to the world. A release party was held in Orlando, FL and featured the groups first live performance. Their music video for "Babymaker" was nominated in Big Vision Empty Wallet's Best Comedy Short competition held in New York City.

After this era, the group parted ways but Pat continued releasing music under the Variety Picnic name. The second album, Synth City, took five years to complete and was released on January 1st, 2016. The album moved away from comedy and was a more serious approach to their synth pop sound.

Babbich made his triumphant return to the picnic in May 2016 on a single called "Turquoise Eyes". The group released a summer anthem, Babe Patrol, in June 2017 and celebrated the release with a concert at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA.

Pleasures, their 3rd album, was released in 2018 featuring new members Robbie Camaro & Mathias Montgomery. The album expanded their sound and was made to be played on beaches & yacht's all around the globe.
